A program that provides students with catechesis that is content-centered, liturgical and connected to the lectionary. It is designed to be used in a program of whole community catechesis. The Enhanced edition (©2009) includes these new elements: a more complete overall scope and sequence, a comprehensive Catholic social teaching component and additional prayers in each chapter. The most significant change is the interface between Call to Faith Enhanced and Harcourt's Call to Faith eConnect, a web-based tool for whole community catechesis. Parishes and schools that purchase a subscription to Call to Faith eConnect from Harcourt will have access to resources that will enhance the Call to Faith K-8 elementary program. These resources include: customizable lesson planners, multimedia catechetical support, extra activities for children, chapter reviews and assessments, additional Scripture options, family activites and more. The Call to Faith program can be taught without the eConnect component.
Student Books have 21 lessons with stories, Scripture activities, prayers and additional seasonal lessons and celebrations. Each lesson includes a Faith in Action section. Family Faith pages help families participate in the faith formation of their children.
Teacher Manuals provide easy-to-use planners, connections to the Catechism, lesson plans, resources, optional classroom activities, reproducible activity pages and unit tests. The People of Faith Card Collection is a set of 133 colorful cards, each with a picture, brief biography and prayer. Music CDs offer a repertoire of liturgical music with thirty songs on two CDs for each grade. The Lectionary Link is a large interactive visual that displays the Sunday readings along with questions for different ages.
